Six months passport validity

Planning on going on holiday to the Philippines next year from mid March to mid April. My wife has ILR in UK but has not got British citizenship and will be travelling on her Philippines passport. Her passport expires June next year, will we have to renew it before we travel so it is valid for 6 months after date of travel or does it just have to be valid for the period of the holiday?

I would make sure she applies for her new passport so there is no risk at all of being denied at check-in. I am sure you can apply for a new Philippine passport at the embassy or even online. Better safe than sorry imo
