Built in 1820 ... this historic bridge spans the River Tweed from Fishwick in Berwickshire to Horncliffe in Northumberland.
If the bid - submitted to the 'Heritage Lottery Fund' - is successful, completion of the refurbished project is aimed to coincide with the bridge's bicentenary.
