British man is investigated for allowing drunken tourists to ride NAKED on a buffalo as he faces accusations of insulting Philippines culture.

Expat Liam Cox was accused of committing a 'grave scandal' on his carabao tour.

The buffalo was declared the Philippines national animal by Emilio Aguinaldo.

Cox posted pictures of a naked couple riding the beast as nude man watches.

Police are investigating the British national, accusing him of insulting culture.

A British man who has sparked outrage by offering naked buffalo rides for tourists is being investigated by police.

Liam Cox had been running his 'drunken carabao tour' on the remote holiday island of Siargao in the Philippines for several years.

But the expat caused fury earlier this month when he posted pictures online of a nude couple riding one of the beasts while covered in mud.

A naked man was stood watching them fooling around on the buffalo, which was declared the national animal of the Philippines by former president Emilio Aguinaldo.

Police filed a case of 'grave scandal' against the surfer while local officials slammed him for 'disrespecting the culture'.

It is the latest incident of westerners being accused of offensive behaviour in more conservative countries.

Inspector Joel Liong, Chief of Police in Surigao City, said today: 'Police have filed a case against Mr Liam Cox a British national.

'The case against him is that he caused grave scandal by insulting the culture and traditions of the Philippines.

'We have filed the case against him and the people who were involved in the viral pictures. They were seen riding carabao naked and this is very disrespectful.

'The file has been passed to prosecutors who will now decide how to proceed and what punishment will be taken against Liam Cox.

'He admitted that he was involved with the nakedness and said that the group had been drinking a lot of wine and liquor during the day time.'

Cox took the pictures of the drunken guests riding naked on the carabao animal and uploaded to social media.

He then deleted them after outrage from local residents. Police seized the pictures and are using them as evidence in their case against him.

The activity involves tourists getting drunk and riding carabao while being led around by locals. Earlier pictures show a shaven-headed man riding a carabao naked.

Philippines National Police Provincial Director Superintendent Antony Maghari said he had ordered the Chief of Police in General Luna to conduct operation and arrest anyone who posed nude while riding a carabao.

Supt Maghari said: 'Don't disrespect Siargao! The PNP acted after Philippine Councilor's League President and SP Ex-Officio Member Marlon Coro exposed the pictures.'

Cox told local media that he regretted what had happened and apologised for any offence caused.

He said: 'In light of recent events, it has come to our attention that some of the photos from our Carabao Ride that were posted on our social media pages caused quite a public stir.

'We sincerely apologise to anyone whose decency and good custom may have been offended.

'The ones we posted were behind-the-scenes photos of a shoot in the mountains with our friend who is an international tattoo model.

'No private parts nor any indecent pose were shown. Rest assured, consent was given by all participants across all angles of this happenstance. All photos have now been taken down. Again, we are sorry if you felt slighted.'

Lager lout behaviour is probably best left at home. IDIOTS.

Of course it's perfectly fine for Filipinos to piss in the street in full view of all and sundry.... or post to Facebook vile pictures of mangled bodies, horribly deformed stillborn babies , etc, etc. :anerikke:

Still ... their culture and their laws.

BUTUAN CITY — Authorities arrested on Saturday four persons, including a British national, for marijuana possession and use in General Luna town on Siargao Island.

Chief Insp. Joel Liong, director of the General Luna Municipal Police Station said on Monday that the suspects were arrested during a raid on a suspected drug den in the town.

He identified those arrested 32-year old British national Liam Cox; Fernando Baguinon Dycueco, 54, a barangay councillor in Dapa town; 30-year old Kirby Clet, a native of Iligan City; and 24-year old Rolf Jingle Oraliza Congreso.

Liong said the local police only served as back up to agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority (PDEA), who were serving a search warrant.

Seized from the suspects were 500 grams of marijuana with a street value of P185,000.

Liong described Cox as the same foreigner who went viral on social media for riding a carabao in General Luna naked.

“I personally filed a case against Cox for grave scandal. He was the one who organized the naked carabao ride together with other foreign nationals,” he added.

Liong said all four suspects were now under custody of the Caraga Police Regional Office here.

He said charges for violation of the anti-drugs law, particularly section 6 or maintenance of a drug den; section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs); and section 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) were now being readied against Cox and Clet.

Violation of section 7 of the same law or visiting a drug den was being prepared against Dycueco and Congreso.

Dycueco would also be charged for drug use, according to Liong. /atm
