Quite an experience for Mercedes Graham, bet she was amazed. Are the old 1950's double deck trams still running in Hong Kong? because some of them were from Sheffield :Erm: :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Absolutely.

She was really amazed, that's for sure. Enjoyed the Star Ferry ride too... and the double-decker bus from the airport. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I think that since the forum name change it is a lot harder to find this site for new people searching for help. The old timers are getting fewer slowly due to a number of reasons, families growing, losing interest, do not need any more help or advise or just not with us any more. The site needs fresh blood.
There is always something i am not 100% sure about and i ask or check on here, it is still a very handy site to be a member of.
I know many years back this site started out as a dating site and the name now seems to be leading that way as well but very few new comers for anything if it is help or love.
I am interested to know on what google page this site is on now if i did a search for filipino love or help. I think i might give it a go and see where we are.

Hi Rory, i log in almost every day, although i dont often have anything to say, its still great to see someone else has been here, definatly the site went down after the name change, coincidence or not , but times change also , some of the old gang left, like les taxi for one, then we lost Arthur RIP bless him, he is missed,he did his best to keep posting and bring life into the forum, many dont look for forums any more they just join groups on Face book ect, as for us lot we are all getting old now and 1 by one we will disapear, personaly i think this site is almost dead, i think Keith is proberbly just keeping it going just for the sake of a few, i miss the site the way it was, and i am grateful for all the help the laughs and friends here:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I rarely look in now. Really because I don’t think I can offer anything.
Always will be grateful I found this site back when I was looking for advice on how to marry in Philippines.

Sorry to hear about Arthur. I did wonder why he gave up posting. I am friends with a few on here from Facebook, but for me Facebook just shows me irrelevant stuff mainly and I don’t see posts from friends much. So probably missed about Arthur. R.I.P.

Facebook, i call it Fakebook. All you see is people posting up picture of them having a good time and never see them in the real world. No sad depressive pictures or just a boring life of going to work 5 days a week plus i do not believe anything i read on facebook, so many untruths told.

Arthur was a regular poster and i had the pleasure of meeting him and his wife once. I was a little shocked when i heard of his passing on here when the news first broke.

Yes a few of the very regular posters have also stopped posting but there is still a wealth of information on here to read and checkup on when you need help or advice. I know they keep moving the goalpost with visa requirements slightly but people are still aware of the changes and help out. I am sure i will still be on here and asking questions in 2 years time when i am due to retire to the philippines. Most will be about pension option i would think. Hoping the site will still be running then.

I have him on Facebook, he posts some good photos of wildlife. Unfortunately I rarely see them come up on my feed as it’s full of adverts and irrelevant things

All good here, just always need and want more money :biggrin:

I always use to think that but since I have retired I have come to realise that you don’t need that much , as long as you don’t have debt then you will be surprised how much you really do need , I’m doing my best to avoid the tax man here, I put all my money into ISAs and come this November when I get my state pension I will reduce my private pension to just £100 a month , but after saying all this , it’s nice to know I have enough to see me out

Still alive here gentlemen !:olddude:

Just had a new upstairs sala and bedroom built. 8 roomed shack now.

Keeping busy as always, with DIY, keeping jungle at bay, taking care of my egg-producing quails, dancing at local 'do's', singing karaoke, and playing loud music...while slightly inebriated. :Cuckoo:
