Naturalisation Form Question re English language

Hi all

I'm applying for my wife's naturalisation and am a bit stuck on the Knowledge of Language Section.

In so far that my wife passed the Trinity College London test Grade 5 Entry Level Certificate in
ESOL International (Speaking and Listening) (Entry 3)
B1.1 of the CEFR with distinction.

Now she passed this in November 2014 and my understanding is that the certificates at this time did not have the asked for SELT UER numbers.

Do I therefore leave this blank?
Is the certificate still valid?

Also I'm sure I read somewhere (maybe I dreamt it?) that as she's been here since 2010 and got a Residence Permit in March 2015, she might not need
this anyway?

Any help would be appreciated.

ah yes just found info on page 15 of the help guide -

"If you have a B1 level qualification that was accepted for the purposes of a
settlement application, then you do not need to pass another English language test
for your citizenship application."

Does this mean she is exempt? Like a lot of this stuff it's a bit ambiguous, eg is a Residence Permit counting as a settlement application?

Residence permit? Is she a spouse of an EU national or British?

She is married to me and therefore is the spouse of a British citizen.
We were married in April 2012.

Okay, so she has Indefinite Leave to Remain and not Resident Permit or Permanent Residence (which is for spouses of EU Nationals living in UK).

She won't have to retake the English test as long as the grade is B1 and above. Just submit the same test report she has submitted in the past.

Yes she has ILR. Beg your pardon I always call it Residency due to her having a "Residence Permit".

That's great. I guess I'll just leave the reference number part blank then and put a note with the old certificate.

Odd thread that. In so far the mod is trying to help and the questioner is getting stroppy with them!
But still helpful.

My problem is that her certificate predates the period when they started 'unique electronic reference numbers.'

I looked this up on Trinity's site where it was confirmed.

But since the certificate has been accepted in her SET(M) application, like you say the language test stands. This is clear to me now, but it's just which number to put in their UER box in the absence of a UER. I'm supposing it's not that important, and I can stick one of the other reference numbers in with an accompanying note.

Rayna I'm just popping by to say thanks again. My wife was approved and went to her naturalisation ceremony this week, which we both enjoyed.

It's great to have her as a full British citizen now, and next step a passport I guess!
