Nicotine patches are to be tested on coronavirus patients and healthcare workers treating infected people after initial studies suggested smokers were less likely to catch the disease.
Researchers in France say early data indicates those who smoke make up a disproportionately small number of people in hospital with COVID-19 (https://news.sky.com/topic/covid-19-8518).

............................ :yeahthat:'s interesting ... :cwm25: ... and would seem to refute claims smokers are 14 times more likely to die of coronavirus. :cwm24:

This is weird. Even before this was announced I predicted that there would be a simple solution to the virus, and nicotine was my guess.

Anyhow, while we're on the subject, it's been 18 days since I last had a cigarette. I started smoking in 1986 and up until the 8th April I had been puffing away @ 40 per day - sometimes more. I've tried quitting before but to no avail, and I've done it this time without any help. No patches, lozenges, vaping etc....I'm amazed I've got this far :omg:
