Changes to Philippines Visa

If I am reading this correctly, anybody coming to the Philippines will need to get a visa in their own country before travelling. This applies to spouses and children of Filipino Citizens.

Correct.. No more BB status honoured for foreigners.. Need 9a!
Even those with an SRRV (retirement visa) NOT allowed to travel to the Phils!!

That, I`m pretty certain is Pre Covid and new restrictions.
Pretty sure ALL foreigners need 9a. now (except residence or long term working visas) or they probably will not pass airport check in.

Rules are being changed like the weather in this clown show.

ALL must have a visa, unless already in possession of a long-term one such as 13A.

NO foreign tourists being admitted.

Forget any 'Balikbayan' privileges too.

Seemingly Duterte has already worked out a deal with the Russians, they will provide their vaccine to the Philippines for free.

Don't understand, does this apply to me wife and child? And I am possibly staying?? My flight looks as though it's schedual is as it should be, glad I booked it in January because the prices vary from £1600 to £2500 + depending on what airline one uses and the return flights are from £301 to £550 these are present prices.:Erm:

Oh well, we don't have any plans of visiting the Philippines yet anyway. We visited last year for my brother's wedding. It will be in 2 years the earliest if we are planning to go back again.

Regarding time, Flying with Singapore at the moment I've checked it out and for my dates is still operating, the only difference is price change but that won't affect us, hopefully if I don't hear from the airline I just go to the airport. Have called them hoping to speak to someone but the recorded messages instructing you what to do to speak to whoever are not audible to me due to their British accent. Any help would be appreciated.

Micheal..It`s a difficult time for all of us...Not only that but the idiot Bureaucrats here are worthless pieces of sh.. IMO.
You need to print out the info that I have given you and ask them what they think it means!! After all,they issued the memorandum so it`s their responsibility to explain it to you.
Let us know what they (the embassy) advise you..
Keep digital or photo copies of what they tell you.
I`d appreciate it if you post their reply here.

Update from the BI website. All foreigners married to a Filipina/Filipino MUST obtain a visa before traveling unless they have a current valid visa. If they thold an ACR-I card that is expired they must renew it before travel.

Well Fred, what I do know is that no Foreigners allowed in Philippines unless they have a long term visa, in other words you guys living in Philippines can leave and re enter no new visa's issued can be used. So for the time being I'm stuck. Singapore Airlines have cancelled flights to Manila because of Manila airport entry regulations and have moved my flight to March now with an £487 increase. If anyone is aware of any useful updates in the future please post on here. :Erm::xxgrinning--00xx3:

I'm afraid at the moment, you will simply be treated as a foreign tourist.

The 30 day visa 'waiver' has been suspended.

You will need to apply for a 9A visa before travelling. It is most unlikely that you'll be granted one.

My expectation is that it will be the best part of a year before travel to the Philippines can start to open up.
