Hi,

not been able to find this information but my girlfriend in the philippines failed her visitor visa a few weeks ago, from the replies I got back on this site it seems pointless sending in an appeal. Does anyone know if we can just send a NEW application in for a fiancee visa or would we have to wait a few months to apply again. I understand I can't just appeal saying we now want a fiancee visa, my girlfriend has all the papers so it makes sense to apply for a fiancee visa straight away. Would immigration see this as odd. The visa price is £1000 so I wana make sure i don't make any silly mistakes. I've seen all the advice here how to apply and what to send but I don't want it to fail cos we have just applied for a visit visa and there is some sort of cooling off time before you can apply again.
From reading the articles on here seems the clinchers are making sure you have a wedding booked (evidence), does my girlfriend still need to get a certificate of singleness? Also I am divorced so do i send my decree nisi (copy)
Wish we applied for the fiancee visa 1st time now...

Lee

A fincee visa is a 1000 pounds now geez.

Well make sure make sure your finacees are tip top, if not and a few months of saving will help hold back a few months just to be sure.

You can apply straight off as far as i have read of others experiences but just find out the reasons why it was denied. I presume they didn't think your girlfriend would return if so their should be no problem.

I think your girlfriend needs to get a cennomar to prove she is single and able to marry and you would need to show your able to mary as well with all the divorce paperwork.

I presume you have met your girlfriend a few times or at least once in the Phillipines?

Good luck and hang around so more experienced people regarding fiancee visas (we got a spouse visa which is slighty different)

Yep, it was the old "she can not prove she will come back to philippines" answer when she failed the visitor visa.
My finances are fine, although I have just started a new job as a contractor but my paper work will go back far enough to say i still work full time (I will not need to show I have this new job).
I was in Cebu Feb 2007 to see her so we have photos.

:Erm: Visa Fee 1000 pounds :omg::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol: since when :Erm::D

New Visa Fee for settlement effective this jan 23, 2008
Marriage (Fiancee Visa) is only 42,500 pesos per application

Just go to the VFS UKvacs website post by one of the member here to know what other requirements you need and how much is the visa and etc.

I guess its ok to apply for a fiancee visa even if you have a failed visitors visa and it might not affect your application. :Erm:

Marriage or settlement fee is = 500 pounds. Peso amount depends on the current conversion when you lodge your application.

When I first looked at applying for my wifes visa in December it was 47500P , then when I actually applied on 4th on January it was 45000P - now from tomorrow its 42500P !!! . So , people , make sure you check the latest info on the wesite before you get your managers cheque . According to the VFS they will not accept cheque drawn to the wrong amount
