HI to all,
Im Lorie from Bataan and my fiance is from UK. We are engaged for 2 years and living together in CHina. Im new in this forum but already a week i am visiting and reading this site. And I really learning a lot here. Last month me and my fiance went to British Consulate in Angeles Pampanga and applied for his CNI and we are planning to get married by next month in Philippines. Now we are back in China and I read in this site that marrying in Hongkong is easier for applying settlement visa to Uk. Me and my fiance is now thinking to marry in Hongkong. I Need advise please, if we better to marry in Hongkong or stick to our plan in PH. Please advise.

It should not make much difference whether you marry in Hong Kong or the Philippines, however a note of caution, you are not residents of the SAR are you ? if you are in China mainland then I think you should marry in Pampanga, as you came from this district.
Or Bataan, but really, its not neccessary to worry too much about this, probably better for you to marry in Pampanga, and then apply locally.

Hello Peter and Gina,
Im so happy to your immedite reply. I dont have working permit in China but heard that they don't require residency in Hk to get married. MY fiance worked here in CHina for 2 years and his contract already finished last year but we still stay here and go back to Ph to get married and apply for settlement visa to UK. Friend of us told us that if we apply settlement visa my husband(to be) will be need to stay to UK .Right now he is not working and dont want to go back to UK alone. I want to know if is possible we stay together in PH after the wedding and apply for my settlement visa and we go together to UK once I get the visa? We have all the evidence of relationship they are requiring. MY fiance is willing to stay and wait my visa in Ph.
Peter and Gina I really appreciate your response.

hi lorjas,
firstly, welcome to the forum..getting married in hk or in the philippines is not an issue when applying for the visa, i think..as long as uve got all the necessary documents it will be fine..ur fiance can live and stay with u in the philippines as long as he had the proper visa he needs, i think he can stay there for a month or so now unlike before only 21 days..then if ur visa is granted u can go to UK together..the decision is all urs, just make sure u prepared well all the documents needed for ur visa application..
Goodluck and best wishes on ur wedding next month..:)

already been andy, we went on the 15th, came back on 16th, again i was the only whitey guy waiting, i don't know how many took the exam, as most had entered the hall already, must have been 100's (around 700 !! last time) i would say 99% were indian or pakistani.
nice little money earner for the GMC, £150 a time and my wife didn't pass last time, as the gmc have come up with a more money making scheme, what they do is, the answers papers are marked by computer, so they can work out what the average mark is, and then set the mark you need to pass at something like 10% higher or what ever they deicde, and so most people can notpass and most will always fail :cwm23:
this time she said the exam was harder, looking on the forums, most said it was, and with her ielts expiring, another scam, why should your cert expire after 2 years :D, of course some :censored: at ielts thought we can make more money here, make them take it again after 2 years :NoNo:, so the misses will have to take that again and get an average of 7 or was it 7.5 :Erm:
just money making.. :NoNo: rip off britain...
