:Hellooo: Hi there
Have been looking on this forum, for a couple of months now, as a guest so thought it was high time I signed up.
I've been chatting to a lovely Filipina, on cam etc. for just under 4 months now. Planning to go out & visit her in June...Can't wait.
Isn't the internet GRRREAT!!! Not only have I met her, but there is so much invaluable information, on sites like this. Without this, I would be totally lost?
Many thanks to all of you.

:) Thanks for the welcome. Winner, Jaywin07 & Kimmi, are all members I have become familiar with, over the last couple of months of looking on here.
Although, I haven't booked my flight to the Phils yet, with each day passing, I'm sure I'll be spending more & more time on here, gleaning bits of information.
Mid june is the plan... exciting times ahead.

Thanks Kimmi, :) I appreciate your kind words. I'm sure I'll have a great time in your country.
I've just been talking to her all morning, so I'm feeling in a great mood. Things seem to be going really well.
I hope you're enjoying your time over here, even though it's so bloomin' cold.
Should start to get warmer soon?...maybe not that soon though??

Hi andypaul & jedc143 :)
Many thanks for the good luck!
I've met a lovely woman, who I'm very keen on. She's very funny & always makes me laugh out loud, all the time...We just seem to get on well together.

Of course, I know meeting in person is a completely different thing & coming from different cultures, there are many many hurdles and different things against us. :Help1:
I'm not denying, I've had lots of ups & downs & what if's...but that is part of any relationship, whether you live accross the road or half way round the world. Certain things are always out of your control, but you have to take a chance.

Anyway, I have a really good feeling about it all & I really hope everything works out, I really do...It' all we can do.

Hi gemini63
Pleased to meet you.
I'm really glad your relationship is working well for you & your fiancee. It's good to hear you are one of the many success stories.
I guess it's not easy for your fiancee, to get away if he has a son to look after. Maybe, you have had to make great sacrifices yourself, to be with him.
I don't know? though I should imagine you have.

So, you're going back to Phil next week, I wish you a safe journey & on your return... At least it's not too long before you come back.

As to my lady friend, she comes from the same island as you, Mindanao. Though she is living in Cagayan de Oro city. She's a farm girl originally, from the provinces. She's 32 & is currently doing a caregiving course. I "met" her last october & we've been chatting ever since.

Of course, she wants to take me to visit her family, which is a bit of a worry, as to how safe it is... If I'm totally honest, I don't really know where the farm is. It's just I haven't wanted to bring the subject up...bit silly I know, but there you go... I realise I need to find out & not keep putting it off. I want to & will go though, as I'd love to and need to meet her family.

As far as I can see, it's all going to be a big adventure... Infact it's already started, it's a complete learning curve...so far it's been mostly enjoyable.

hi again,
its nice if u will met her first to know her well and her family too..but see to it to be sure of ur safety in going there,.which place her family was,coz there are some places or areas in cagayan that are not safe..if only within the city u will meet its safe,if ever try to tell her if she can bring her immediate family whom she wants u to met to the hotel where u will stay.i know she wl understand for security reason..is she still single? lol im just asking coz shes already 32.i want to know the circumstances maybe i can help too on ur future plans if ever, thru my experiences...maybe its because of our experiences both with my fiancee, like hving been into separations both that makes us easy to adjust and we met at the right age and realized to hv a peaceful family life and companionship at this age..KINDLY ASK YOUR GIRL WHERE IS HER PROVINCE...coz i hv a farm just on the way from davao city to cagayan de oro city...

Hi gemini63
I really do appreciate your help, thank you.
I'm probably not going to be able to talk to her on cam, till the end of the week now.
Maybe we will speak on the phone, which isn't always easy, but we will converse by text messages.
I will definately find out where her family does live, by the end of the week...I really do need to know.
I've no reason to believe she isn't single, everything adds up & she has never asked me for any money. I did offer to help her a while ago, for her internet expenses, but she said no, as she was managing to get by. Infact, she phoned me the other day totally out of the blue, which really thrilled me, I know it must have cost her a fortune. Since then she has accepted my offer to send her a bit of credit for her phone, which I am happier about, as we can contact each other easily for whatever reason.

I'm not sure exactly when you are going back to the Phil. but I will keep you informed & I shall be regularly checking out this forum anyway.
Thanks again, take care. :)

Hi Sim,

Welcome to the forum , you'll get lots of great advice here.

My wife is also from Mindanao , its a lovely place and the people are so friendly - as are all filipinos.

Have a great time there - you'll be smitten with the phills.

Don't worry about the different culture when you meet your gf for the first time - it adds depth to the relationship

Hi there stuartfarm
I think you are so right, about the culture difference adding depth to the relationship. It's a real positive way to look at it.
I'm really looking forward to going now & especially, after all the good feedback I've had.
Though, I'm sure you too, probably had some reservations about travelling to Mindanao?
Glad to see things have worked out for you & your wife & I wish you all the best for the future. Thank you.
