Just like that eh pal ? have you done any research ? oh well.

just make sure you don't go with a large fortune only to come back without one...with no home, and have to start all over again.

Thousands do it of course, only to come back potless once they come up against the Filipino factors.

Good Luck with it though.

another smart words from mod again....as i notice they love staying here in PI, btw the owner of bakery bread shops says the pandesal will increase the price again from 2.50 to 3 for 10 pesos :D

I thought the pandesal bun was only 1 peso, wow so now its 3 for 10, hmmmm and with PGMA reforms the country is moving in the right direction, what about the D's and E's who make up 90 per cent of the populace.

Who live on less than USD 2.00 per day, I am sure they are loving the price hikes, and My caretaker manager told me in a conversation yesterday that the price of cooking gas was 600 when we were last there, it was only 350, wow what a change.

I filled up my Kia Sportage in the Philippines in downtown Bacolod, it was P1700 to fill it up, now my caretaker tells me its P2000 to fill it up.

Thank you jedc143, I try to be pratical, and pragmatic, the Philippines is not easy for anyone to survive in, especially fresh faced foreigners with lots of money to spend, they are the easiest to part with their money, I have only one peice of advice for any foreigner who goes to the Phils to try and make a life there and it simply this.

Let your Asawa do all the negotiating, and never I repeat never never never show your white kano face until the ink is dry on the contract

To live in the Philippines as a foreigner, you have to think as a Filipino or:

You will be parted with your rather large fortune very quickly, and end up being the stupidest broke kano who has to high tail it home.

Wise words....take them.

It probably costs me over 250,000p a month in the UK to live :omg: .....the yearly electric bill would buy a nice 3 bedroomed house in the Phil :cwm24:

£2500 a month! You must be living a high life I get by nicely on £1000 then again don't smoke, don't drink much, little mortgage but even if I had £10000 a month I wouldn't be all that happy here as I am when I am in the Phils and I have spent upto 6 months a time there.
