having lived in usa for 12 years i still use most of these terms myself and drive folk at work crazy!!!!! glad to know im ahead of the game here!!!

Banger - sausage.
Bap - hamburger buns in America
Barbie - grill. barbie or BBQ
Beer - Real Ales
Beer mat - coaster
Beetroot - beet or beets in America.
Best - British ale.
Bevvy - beverage
Bickie - cookie .
Biscuit - Cookie in America.
Bitter - beer.
Larger - beer
Blancmange - custard
Brown bread – wheat bread.
Brown sauce - steak sauce
Bubble & squeak - greens and potato.
Bucks fizz - ruining champagne with orange juice
Corn flour – corn starch
Chip shop – chippy or cheaper
Butty – sandwich
Candy floss – cotton candy
Cuppa tea/coffee – cup of tea/coffee
Rubbish bin – trash can

There was an American male airline steward on a flight from Nice to Gatwick last week (gay, of course) who during the briefing said "garbage" instead of rubbish and pronounced "route" to rhyme with stout. You'd have thought EasyJet would have picked him up on this as he was plying a European route and not tranatlantic!

Flipflops = tsinelas
rubbish = basura
jumper = pang ginaw
jim-jam = pantulog

but some words i had hard time for him to translate

My kukupops had learned how to used the tabo (dipper) and batya (laundry tub), at first I was surprised when he stepped the plastic batya while doing the shower:icon_lol::icon_lol:
but he taught now its pair with tabo so he had a nice bath then:doh:D:ARsurrender:

the only thing ube is good for is ice-cream, yummy, it always make me smile when we return to HK and are waiting for our bags at the carousel watching several cool boxes going round with three flavour ice cream being brought back from the Phils:):)

only one phrase, "It's only money" :NoNo:, everytime she wanted to buy something which i thought we didn't need or was a waste of money, and i would moan about it..

but now shes working, and when i ask her for money, shes says she got none :doh
