Hello there,

I found this site very useful and i believe I am more enlighten with your help
and also with some opinions and ideas from other members.

I am a Filipina and a government employee, I met my fiance and chatted since
Novemeber 2007 and both falling in love genuinely. Now we both want to live happily together for good. My bf can't visit me as what we have planned before for a very reasonable reason.we both want to meet very soon so that we can apply fiance visa and so we decide that he will sponsors me and apply for a visitor's visa. There is no problem with regards in his documents. It is my required documents in which i doubt i can supply enough to convince the officer.I dont have enough money in the bank, i have small property and my employer here can support a letter for my application stating that i need to come back to work not later than 3 months. My point is,do you think the officer still need to require me to have enough money in my bank account even i do have sponsor to support me and pay all the expenses ? i really
want to get some advice ....we still want to try to apply visitors visa....we
are still hoping....

thank you and more power

Visitor visa's are a problem, the failure rate for a VV from manila is more than 30% :yikes: but from posts i've read i think its even higher...

some people think its a good thing to mention that you've a relationship with your sponsor, some people think its not a good idea, as the case worker will think you will not return.

but even if you have all the correct paper work you still could be refused, becuase the case work doesn't think you will return for what ever reason that comes to their mind :Erm: and thats the major reason for refusal, they don't think you will go back... :NoNo:

hi Lenlen,

firstly welcome to the forum..and about ur query, based on my experience I also tried to apply for a visit visa before but unfortunately it was denied because of one major reason - they cant see any reason that I am coming back to the Philippines because I dont have tie to the economy- I mean I dont have a bank account also..and my hubby cant come to me visit me before because of some an avoidable circumstances and when I got denied I told him that if u really love me u have to prove it to me..so he came to visit me and we got engaged and then apply for a fiancee visa and now happily married..

But Ive know some of the people here who tried and succeed, who knows u might be one of them also..

Goodluck..Cheers.:)

Your comment is really appreciated.thank you so much...you have the point..!!!
Well, we have plan B.He will fly over here in Phil this coming January 2009.The best time for him to come over is from January to April because of his work.Actually, he already booked a flight last Feb. and everything was ready for his one month stay in Phil, but unfortunately after the booking something had happened that alter our plan. The reason is very reasonable. So, we canceled all the booking...it was a waste of money and we both felt sad...now ,we are trying our best to find other way to meet soon in order for us to file fiance visa, we are looking for even a very small possibility by applying visitors visa.We both want to try...but of course we need more advice to be prepared emotionally....thank you very very much....nice to hear from you....God bless

hi Len,

i guess there's no harm in trying but make sure u prepared all the docs needed..re the bank account I think u dont need to have huge amount on it as long as u can prove to the ECO that u can support urself and have had reasons to come back..

it will be better if u read some of the threads here and always visit the vfs website for additional infos..

Goodluck..:)

hi lenne don't worry if you don't have enough money in your bank or you don't have a property as long as your bf have a strong evidence of documents that he can provides all your need while you are in UK and thats better if he visit you first

:D unless you can convince the case worker you will go back and have reasons to go back, you will be refused becuase they don't think you will come back.. so unless you have money, a business, property, job, etc.. reasons to go back.. you face the same fate as the other 30%+ who are refused..
