Hi guys my wife wants to change her maiden name to our married name on her passport.
Does she need to complete the CFO course and, or any other course? I know for UK course / seminar its on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am. We have had a look at the CFO info page but to be honest we are both mind boggled with all the information overload at the moment.

Thanks' to anyone who has info on this matter :action-smiley-081:

There is no rush to change your wife's name at this moment in time, first you should let your wife attend the seminar for spouses of foreign nationals, then obtain your counselling certificate, then you may obtain your emigrant number from the DFA.

The name change can be done at a later time at the Philippines Embassy in London, cost £15.00 in 2005, maybe its £20.00 now, or something similar.

Yes Darren listen to Petes advice

We are in the process of changing my wifes passport to her married name. Its much better you keep things simple with visa , CFO and plane tickets etc and wait till you're in the UK before you change it

Still cost £15 if you are married in the Phills and hopefully should get the passport back in a week or so if you post it
