I thought I knew the process but now I'm confused. Please can someone confirm (by the way my girlfriend has her finacee visa!!!! and fly's in 4 weeks)
1. Girlfriend gets 6 month fiancee visa to come to UK
2. We get married within the 6 months in UK
3. Now, wife, returns to Philippines.
4. Wife obtains 2 year visa to return to UK
5. once 2 years is up, wife can apply for permanant residency in UK
the bit I am confused about is number 3, does my wife have to return to Philippines to get the 2 year visa?
thanks
Lee

hi Lee,
well done!! congratz for ur gf having a visa..
about ur querries..
1. Yes Fiancee Visa is valid for six months..
2. Yes u should get married within six months or before her visa expires
3. why ur wife should return in the Philippines??for a vacation??:Erm:
after u get married here in the UK, ur fiancee should apply for FLR (Further Leave to Remain) or 2 yrs visa extension, and its really a straight forward application..she dont need to come back to the Philippines to apply for another visa..hope it helps..
