My fiancee is currently applying for a fiancee visa so she can leave Dubai and live with me in Scotland. Were planning to get married in September.

We would love to visit the US in January which is several months after our marriage. Is this possible?

Thanks
Scott

Once you have got married and your wife has applied for and been granted Further Leave to Remain it's not a problem for her to leave the UK for holidays, but she will need to apply for a US tourist visa to enter the US.

My wife applied for a US tourist visa late last year (though when she had ILR rather than FLR) and it was a fairly painless process. Though you do have to apply in person in either London or Belfast and they will keep your wife's passport and return it to via the mail.

You should have enough time to sort it out for January, especially if you go to Belfast rather than London as the waiting time for an interview is shorter there.
