Hello to all the members...:BouncyHappy:

This is our first posting here.

We would just like to introduce ourselves, we are Cyrene and Robert, hence our username... CyRob.. LOL.

We have known each other for about 17 months now and were fortunate to have met in real just recently for the first time. We met in Cebu (Tabunoc) on April 30th and I returned back to the Uk on May 20th - 2008. 20 of the best days of my life I might add.

Wow what a heart ache that was. We are so in love and had a wonderful time together. I knew I had made the right decision to find my true love in the Philippines. And what a fantastic, caring and loving attitude you Filipinas have for your men. It was such a delight to be welcomed and treated like a king. I mean that in the nicest way. I was overwhelmed by the friendliness and enthusiasm of all the family and people I met on my trip.

As you can guess we have decided that we want to get married and spend the rest of our lives together, we actually got engaged on my trip over and have come here to seek lots of help, advice and we hope some new friends.

As this is just an introduction I/We wont ask any questions just yet..LOL.. Lots to come later.

We look forward to lots of new friends, help, advice and guidance..

Your new friends,

Robert and Cyrene... :Hellooo:

BIG thanks to everyone for the warm welcome :xxgrinning--00xx3

I can see we will be looked after well by all you great people.

I don't envisage too many problems I hope. Cyrene is single and
does not have children.

The only problem right now is Cyrene wants to go through an
agency with her visa application!!

I have read lots of posts so far and seems their is a mixed bag
of some that did and lots that went it alone. So thats my first
hurddle to cross with her.

So best advice is needed here people....

DO WE USE AN AGENCY OR NOT?

Oh... we have been quoted PHP 45K all inclusive and PHP 30K plus some costs!

Is this good or bad?

Thanks as usual,

Rob & Cy

Trust you dont need to use an agency

Very very few on here did unless you think of this website as an agency.

Save the money for primark for when CY needs some UK Clothing to keep warm in the UK soon:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Welcome to the family Cyrob.
Like what kuya andypaul said, you dont need to get an agency. As far as i know no one uses an agency as a bridge for visa application.
You're on the right ship Cyrob.Just make yourself comfortable and find time reading.Keep digging until you find a gem that will thoroughly answer your query.
Good luck Cyrene and Robert

what is that php45k if this is for visa its fair enough but i don't know how much the visa fee this php 30k plus if this is a agency fee what i can say is scam. i was used an agency but they never asked that amount of money i just only php1,000.00 for agency fee...will if she's not working that better to do on her own

I have applied for a tourist visa and was issued one just after 14 days and without an interview. Went back to my home country before visa expires then after sorting out my papers I have applied for a fiance visa. I didn't go for an Agency. I just submitted the documents stated in the checklist. As long as everything is genuine and you're honest then everything will be fine. Best of luck.

i've never used an agency for any of the visas i've applied for, nor would i

i don't trust them, i would rather do it myself, and make sure as much as possible i had supplied enough evidence and that i was confident of my app  without paying and relying on someone else :NoNo:

Don't use an agency, you will have to do most of the work yourselves anyway compiling all the required documentation. You will find lots of help here.

Good Luck.

hi there welcome to the forum! im from cebu which is only a couple of minutes from where cyrene lives and i do have a best friend in talisay which is just part of tabunoc.it would be wonderful if she can come over soon in the uk coz me and my british husband lives in norfolk which is not too far to suffolk.i'd love to meet her and make friends with you! i advise you not to go through the agency coz they really cost a lot of money! the best thing to do which we did is that all of your supporting documents and hers as well should be posted to the british embassy in the phils. and if u have all of those and proof of your relationship and that it is really genuine then definetly her visa will be approved and will only take a month or so! it depends though what visa will she apply coz in my case i applied for a fiancee visa and it only took me a month to wait and my visa was approved without any interviews at all.well good luck to both of u! if she is planning to apply for a fiancee visa you can ask me what to do and ill try my best to help....

Hi melmart,

Wow nice to hear we are very close... It would be great to meet you both once Cyrene arrives here. Not too sure how long that will be yet as we are now collecting and compiling our proof and documents ready for submission.

As far as proof/evidence goes, we have the following info:

1,500 A4 pages of yahoo chat... LOL.. yes we chat nearly every day.
A few letters, cards for birthdays, valentines etc.. flower deliveries, 2 gift parcels sent, several western union receipts for financial support, a 3 week visit to Tabunoc with all the flight stubs, passport stamps, accomodation receipts, 350 photos... and a few more things..

Yes... Cyrene will apply for a fiancee visa as we want to get married once she arrives here. Can I ask... Do we have to have a planned wedding and proof of us getting married for the visa application?

Obviously we will both provide the required legal documents as needed for the application.

You say you were approved without an interview!!! I thought under the new visa rules that all applicants now have to attend an interview and biometric scanning regardless.. Thats what I thought anyway.. can anyone clarify if this correct or not?

Like I said.. it will be really great to make contact and meet up in the future.

AND... yes please, any help and advice for Cyrene will be a great help. I can give you her email address if thats ok with you. Just pm me and ask.

Thanks for your lovely reply and look forward to meeting you soon.

i would love to email her and make friends as well. she can ask anything and ill try to help her about the visa and i think she will get it! telling me that u have more than enough proof of your relationship im sure it would be easier and quicker to get her visa and if u can provide all the supporting documents that they want and that your are financially stable all of those would definetly give her a big chance of getting her visa.interviews is not necessary coz then again if u both have all the documents im sure no interview will happen no matter what changes happens and thats for sure! well ask me anything anyway and ill be here to help.here's my email add charmy_003@yahoo.com

Hi Melissa,

Thats great and thank you for your support. I have sent Cyrene your email address and she will be in touch with you soon.

Sounds very encouraging in the fact that she might not have to have an interview as this is the part that scares her most, plus the trip to Manila.

Thanks, Rob :xxgrinning--00xx3:
