Hi! I'm afraid we might have been scammed. Someone from Sussex Brighton published an ad in facebook marketplace for an iphone. My daughter who graduated from middleschool wanted one so we ordered one for her. We asked this guy to quote us for one unit including all costs. He replied and gave us his contact information and priced us USD 250 inclusive of everything. We were supposed to get it in 48 hours. After we sent the money by Western Union, the guy emailed and said that his CEO wouldn't authorize shipping only 1 unit (which he never said in our prior correspondence) as it won't meet the minimum order quantity. I was surprised because he never mentioned a MOQ before. Anyway, he wanted us to order 2 more and he was going to throw in a nokia 6300 as consolation. I only needed one so I asked him to just send the money back. He said it was not possible anymore because it has been applied to the first phone. My daughter was getting disappointed so my older daughter and my husband offered to pay for the other 2 phones. I didn't want to send anymore money if he was scamming us so I was hoping one of you Sussex guys could help me verify if he is for real. I am posting his contact information and anyone who has the time, please, please help me. If he happens to be in the neighborhood of any of you guys, I would even be happy if you would be kind enough to have it delivered to you instead and I'll find ways to get it shipped here.

Edited: Name, address and telephone number REMOVED

Thanks in advance and hope someone out there would help us. God bless.

I'm not in Sussex but from checking Google Maps, that postcode doesn't equate to the address you've given (which sounds odd, anyway). The postcode is for a block of flats in ***EDITED**.

I would strongly advise against sending any more money to this person without very good evidence that you're going to get something in return. If you do believe you have been scammed you can contact Sussex police on 00441273475432 or email them contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk

While I understand you might be annoyed at someone who appears to have ripped you off, YOU DO NOT publish names, addresses and telephone numbers on the forum. Instead, you must use other channels to reach a resolution. Any attempts at publishing a name and address again (this is the 2nd time) will result in an instant ban from the forum.

NEVER pay for items via Western Union, scammers use it as no trail is left to link them to it.

It's the old scam trick, they see you are prepared to pay, so push the envelope to get as much out as you as they can.
