My husband and I met in dating sites last october 2007 and from then we start talking every night and been a routine of our everyday life... during then we felt that we LOVE each other soooo much that we are comfortable and perfect for each other even we didn't even see each other personally.. and spend the rest of our life together...He booked his flight then to come and see me for the first time and also to get married to me....before he went here we've been planning and arranging documents for our wedding..and everything done as we've planned...and We are so happy to become one...

My only question is being in a short engagement and first time saw each other can make an application refuse???

Hi Trina, I also met my wife in Oct 2007 in Manila for the first time by chance. We got engaged on New Year and married in April 2008. She applied for spouse visa in May 2008. She is now in her 9th week and waiting.

I suppose its the relationship evidence that matters.

Best Wishes,
Ben B

Many Thanks Trina.

I'm sure that its only a matter of time for all us. However, I still think that it will take 12 weeks, maybe more due to the recent embassy relocation and numerous other applications.

My guess is that there are additional background checks in place to fight terrorism threats.

Best Wishes,
Ben B

Just make sure you have saved all of your chat logs as this will help you prove that although you hadn't met before he came there to marry you, you had been communicating on a daily basis.

Cheers,
Iain.

hi trina!

I do think that length of the relationship doesn't really matter much in visa application, as long as its proven to be genuine, then it's fine. I have known of a friend who just met her fiance in phils. by chance last feb. 2008, after that they have decided to pursue their relationship, so my friend applied for her fiance visa on april 2008, & so lucky enough, she got her visa on june 2008 without interview. Hope this experience makes you less worried!

Good Luck!
