What UK visa for Ruby?

As I understand it, a UK 'spouse visa' is intended for someone who intends to reside in the UK. What visa options are open to Ruby (married to a Brit, but intending to continue residing in Phils). The reason for wanting a visa is that it is quite possible that we will wish (or need) to make temporary visits to the UK from time to time. Is the only option a long term (10 year?) visitor's visa, or is there another possibility?

What I would really like is to obtain a UK passport for Ruby (is this possible?), otherwise we will always be joining different queues at the immigration desks (our children coming with me).

Is there such a thing? If so I guess that's what you'll need to get. Otherwise you'd have to apply for six month visit visa every time you wish to bring her the UK and that would be not only time consuming, but very expensive.

You can request a 10 year visitor visa (question 6.11 of VAF1) though it's up to the ECO whether they will actually issue you a visa for that length of time.
