What is the difference between Family Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit.
I'm very confussed. If anybody could explain it to me.

Hello Gary, my hubby tried to claim a working tax credit then unfortunately he was not allowed to claimed it bcoz of his income..but the good news we can recieve a child tax credit every 4 weeks and child benifit every mos.
Looking at the decision forms I have from them, it looks like they are 2 different elements of the same overall benefit and they are both calculated seperately and then added together for the same application.
I just read that back to myself and it sounds about as clear as mud, but it's about the best I can come up with.

i think you mean 'working tax credits' and 'child tax credits'.
If you work, but earn low wages, you may qualify for Working Tax Credit. i think you have to be earning like minimum wage to get this
while If you're responsible for at least one child or young person who normally lives with you, you may qualify for Child Tax Credit.
