Corny ending

I see several places when giving ideas for sponsors letters, they end by saying bthat they want to be together at all costs even if it means leaving the UK.

Surely if people end their letters like that, they must think nothing of it when they read it?

Its the evidence that really matters! The letters are pretty much useless - perhaps just to prove that the person is invited to the UK, unless of course you have something important to mention (e.g. family visit reasons etc).
