typhoon "hagupit" hitting north Luzon in two days
It seems to me that there have beewn numerous typhoons hitting the Philippines this year plus a lot of rain? Is it more than usual?
According to statistics ( www.typhoon2000.ph ):
In 2007 for the Philippines:
- 4 super typhoons,
- 6 typhoons,
- 3 tropical storms.
In 2008 for the moment (typhoon season will ends only in November):
- 1 super typhoon,
- 7 typhoons,
- 4 tropical storms,
- 1 tropical depression.
To add to these events, the Monsoon is really strong this year with a lot of rain everywhere in Asia.
Best regards.
Yves

If you look at the link I gave, you will see that the typhoon centre do not pass over the Philippines but north of the islands. No signal over Manila, so as usual it will increase the rains there. So the umbrella will be useful.
I agree will you umbrella under a typhoon with strong winds and rain is not useful.
Best regards.
