As far as i'm concerned, there's no general holiday on Oct. 1 in the Phils. There's an "Oktoberfest" event which is sponsored by San Miguel Corporation. I haven't been to one but i think it is just an event to get drunk and be merry! They are normally held in beach resorts and bars.

Since when did they have school holiday for eid??? Philippines is not a muslim country. Not in the part where i used to live anyway.
And FYI, Islam celebrates Eid when the moon has been sighted. It varies. This year it happens on Oct 1.
President GMA declared End of Ramadan as national Holiday in respect for our Muslim friends.
