A quick question to help us out big style

    hey guys,

many congrats to everyone who has been granted a visa.

my question is simply, can people tell me how long it has taken for successful fiance visas to be processed. We know the official time given is 3 months but reading the forum we have seen times from 1 week to 10 weeks and we are applying in December.

    Any tips????

    AJS

Did someone really get a settlement visa in a week? I thought they normally did checks with Philippines government agencies which would take more than a week to get the results from.

The Wife and I had a quick decision due to the change in procedures messing alot of people about and like you say it was over a week due to the checks.

When I applied for my fiancee visa in 2006, it was released within 2 weeks... as long as all the documentation is in order.

We submitted our fiancee visa application one week ago on October 21st and I'm hoping we will hear by Christmas, which will be nine weeks. My fiancee did say it was busy there when she submitted her application but obviously can't tell from how many people were there that one morning how busy they are overall at the moment.

To many circumstances can affect the actual time taken. Poltical events, if the embassy as they oftern do change the procedure at a moments notice. Also your personal application. Thats why its best to offer all you can so they do less running around.

The average waiting time for settlement visa is 10 weeks. However, it varies. Someone here in the forum got her fiancee visa after 7 weeks of waiting only but there are others who waited for 11 weeks.
