Well Mike if you get bored of Cebu and wanna surprise your missus you coald always book a 2 day return to Singapore for 70 quid each, so long as your gf has a passport - no visa needed.
But beware if do - the family might take offense if you can take them too.

Next time we get hassle with Manila taxi-drivers, I will start talking Welsh to them, that'll really confuse them. If not, I may start using some select words in Maltese. That will for sure create a comedy situation
It worked for me once when I was in Liverpool, some Big Issue guy was hassling me, I just started gibbering in Welsh, then he left me alone. Alright la.
