Hello!
After your marriage, you wait for 2yrs then you apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain. Make sure you didnt exceed the days of absence in UK and that you completed the 2yrs as married couple. Just search in this forum for the requirements for ILR. You should start to collect correspondence/letters as well after you have married to prove that you are living together as a couple for the whole 2yrs.
You only apply for Further Leave to Remain if you didnt meet the 2yrs.
Hope that helps.
Right sorry I was wrong.
You are in fiancee visa...Diana is right, apply for FLR then after 2yrs you apply for ILR.
However I didnt change my Phil passport anymore, its still in my maiden name but will be apply Brit passport next yr then I will use my married name. I didnt report my marriage to the Phil Embassy...am I in trouble?
I have a question my fiancee visa was approve Oct 17,2008 expires April 17,2009.
We are planning to get married March next year.
Is 1 month ok to apply for flr?
Thank you
True love waits.
i dont think you are in trouble, its just that you will be paying a penalty i think i forgot. just check the phil. emb. website again.
i did report my marriage but for the ammendment i didnt push thru with it coz they said my passport is the new one and they can't ammend with it unless i want my passport to be renewed which i have just renewed just this february 2008. so i will just ammend it when im going to renew.
thanks for dianakevy ! thanks also to everyone that response. me and my fiancee are getting married this december 5 ... thank you all for your post here.
First & Foremost:
WHERE ARE YOU AT THIS VERY MOMENT?
PHILIPPINES OR UK?
Where do you intend to marry? PI or UK?
If you will be married in the PI, you will be able to skip 1 visa application, that is FIANCEE VISA (valid for 6mos only) this will save you money.
You will then need to apply SPOUSE VISA that is valid for 2 yrs (pls correct me if im wrong?)
Then ILR after 2 yrs
Then Citizenship
If marrying in the UK
Fiancee Visa 6mos
FLR 2yrs
ILR valid for 5 yrs
Brit Citizenship after 3 yrs of stay in the UK
Common factor:
All of the above mentioned will involve MONEY MONEY MONEY £££££££££!
hi zobel, thanks for that! i am in the uk now..gonna be married soon with my fiance.
