Reminds me of that one about the guy who goes to his local bar on his own and orders three beers, and then drinks them by himself...
he tells the bartender that he drinks the three beers to remember the days when he and his friends went out drinking as a threesome...
One day he goes to the bar and orders just two beers...the bartender makes the assumption that one of his friends has died, he says "That's sad, I guess one of your friends has died?" The guy says "No it's me, I've given up drinking!"
