Ive also enjoyed watching it last night and proud to be a Pinay..
Leche flan is one of hubby's fave..
Congrats to her for winning, but using shop bought yorkshire puds in a cookery contest??
Might as well have opened a tin of Campbells soup for starters, Jolibee for main course and opened a tin of fruit cocktail for dessert.
Her method of making the leche flan in the programme differs from her online recipe.
In the ones I have watched quite a few have taken shortcuts in their cooking didn't one even get a resturant to bring the food over?
For me the fact people had a good dinner is better than someone took ten years reinventing the wheel.
The second I go to someones house and they say oh I spend whole day preparing the puddding or whatever I think here we go. As half the time I cant tell the difference, yet the hosts eyes are on you to see you say how wonderful it is.
Wasn't it good? Umm not really it was OK
Im waiting for someone to say oh everythings made from scratch here, we even drew and filtered the water from our own well. Which is fine if they live in the country but a bit over the top if they live in a 18th floor flat
Gotta say i might go the Jollibee route in "come dine with me" then it gives me a chance to put my jolibee products trip into action. I might even make the main course Chow king, yeah why not I will roll out the big guns.
I must say that spending hours and hours preparing a meal is not my idea of fun.
The wife did that yesterday cos we had friends round for our daughters birthday. I was happy to serve up the ready made stuff from Sainsburys!
And the time taken to prepare prawns!!!! Give me prepared ones any day!
I enjoy a nice meal but there has to be a balance. I think most recipe books over complicate things.
He he, thanks Di, I'm sure she'll appreciate that. You're welcome for dinner anytime.
