27 months spouse visa.. important question, need help

I was granted with 27months visa. Validity date starts at 18Nov2008 until 18Feb 2011. I've got any important question and I'm so confused. I hope to get an enlightenment on this.

Something traggic happened in my family recently. This is the reason why I would want to leave the country early next year instead of in the next few weeks. My question is, having 27months visa, should I enter UK within 28 days???? What if I leave the country middle of January 2009??? Would I have any problems with my next visa(ILR)? or do I need to file for FLR before ILR if I enter UK more than 28 days after I received my visa?

Need your help guys. Sir Joebloggs, please enlighten me.

I think u have a 3 months leeway with the new 27months visa. So traveling on January is still OK because your visa expires on Feb 2011. ... I don't want u to commit a mistake though. So let's wait for the posts of the experts here in the forum. Correct me if I'm wrong, guys.

Yes, this is correct. You can still stay for 3 months (starting on Nov 18) in PI. Application of ILR will require only 2 yrs (24 months) stay in UK. This was the info I got when I phoned the embassy to asked the same question when I got my visa more than a month ago. So, you will have no problem leaving the Phils. January next year.

if it's a 27 month visa, i think you have nearly 4 months to come to the uk, as you can apply for ILR upto 28days before you have been in the uk 2yrs, but i wouldn't do that, if you did. you would not have much time to apply for the ILR and also if there was any problems with you app, your visa could have expired before you sorted the problem out..

so i would definitely come to the uk within 3 months after the start date of your visa

Oh yeah, i forgot the 28days allowance! 3 mos plus 28 days, that's almost 4 months. Mod Joe is right.
