Question NBI document needed for Spousal Visa?

    Hi,

I was talking to my wife today and she said that she needed a NBI document as hers was damaged.
Is this document needed for her Spousal Visa application?

She said she will be collecting her passport this week, so I am assuming it was not needed for this.

She also said that it will take one week to get in Cebu City, but only one day in Manila. She said she wanted to go to Manila by ship from Cebu City

I asked her wasn't it just easier to get it in a week in Cebu.....

Any thoughts as soon as possible please, as Rochelyn may decide to leave Cebu tomorrow (Monday).

    Thanks

I did not submit an NBI Clearance when I filed my visa application. But the Passport application is different... it is 1 of the requirements.

Yes, although I may have a lot of questions on my requirements, I'm not working on submitting my NBI since based on the info here, none did. As for the wife going to Manila for her NBI may be unnecessary. guess she better work on other documents needed, the marriage cert, birth cert, school diplomas and others...

Best of luck in your preparation!

but atleast in Cebu it is her home town & she knows the system there... but in Manila? nah... 1 week will be ok in waiting than going to Manila & spending loads on flights, hotels, fare, food etc... but if she really is going there then it is fine... but NBI is unnecessary

    Hi Aposhark

Its not necessary to include it in your application. But i did included my nbi when i had mine in 2006 coz i had it already before applying so we just decided to include it.

Tell Rochelyn no to worry about it.

    Goodluck

We didn't need it but we got all the clerances and local paperwork we could think off. Maybe worth it so they may have to possibly run less background checks on your mahal?
Also worth doing as some people I have read have had slight problems when first done finding out there is someone with a simliar name and background with outstanding issues. This takes up time but usually nothing to serious.

If there is any issues you can clear them up, if nothing comes up its done and dusted

But as others say no actually reason to do.

Again it maybe something the yanks ask for. I know many Phills compare visa exeriences but forget the Brits and yanks have different systems and requirments.

Apply for it in cebu if it only takes a week so you have it and piece of mind no problems.

Thank you ALL for replying so quickly to my query

I have asked my dear wife not to go to Manila to get this NBI
She will receive the text when she wakes up and heads to Cebu City to get her passport.

THANKS AGAIN, it is so much appreciated

Mrs.JMajor, I will say hi to Rochelyn over the phone tomorrow for you.
    Thanks for thinking about her
