First start by making a list of names you and your partner love. Once you’ve got the list consider the following questions about each:
Q. Does the name sound as good paired with your lastname as it does alone? You may want to avoid regrettable combos like “Joe King” or Sally Sales”
Q. Do you like the nicknames or variation your child is likely to be called? Consider Bobby for Robert, or Alex for Alexandra.
Q. IS the name likely to be misspelled or mispronounced a lot?
Q. Does the name clearly indicate your child’s gender? If not, does it matter to you?
Q. Do you like initials this name forms with the middle and last name? Your child may not appreciate RIP or SOS.
Q. What about the name’s meaning ? Is it appropriate?
Q. IS the name popular? If so, do you care if your child is in classroom full of kids with the same name?
