With the other threads confirming the world-wide economic downturn, the Phils could be caught out with these mega-malls that were planned when the economy was better.
For the Filipina(o)s on here and the expat Brits who live there, is there a noticable economic downturn in the Phils too?
No noticeable effect of the world recession here ... but then 90% of the country is in permanent poverty, the difference wouldn't really show. I suspect that, for the most part, life will just carry on as normal for most filipinos - struggling to put food in their mouths day by day.
However, the cost of transport is falling with the fuel prices. I filled up at 37 pesos/litre yesterday.
Oh yes SM North Edsa is a huge shopping mall, really , I ve been there this afternoon.
I was looking for Mrs JMajor thought we will have Grand Eye Ball today but did not find her though..I thought half the population of the country was in that building as it was really busy.

I have come across a company in west midlands which is expanding and offers training to become managers, or even if you want part time extra income Plus they donate £5 to an emergency fund for Philippines in case of troubled times.
