    Question Honours List

I simply don't understand the reasoning behind the Honours Lists of the last few years.

It used to be that people that really done something worthwhile, in their lives, were nominated for the List. And I mean a life or most of it spent helping other people or achieving very high goals, wether in commerce, business, sports, literature, entertainment, charity work or whatever.
Nowadays, any Tom, Dick or Harry that happens to win a Cribbage, dart game, a race or a peeing contest gets nominated, even if they are barely 18 years old.

I personally think that something like that cheapens and lowers the system, and this Gov, famous for selling honours for cash is giving them away like confetti.

Here we go, see what you think, I don't dispute the marvellous achievements from the younger generation, but isn't that a bit too early to dispense MBE's,CBE's, OBE's...

After all, they could just be a flash in the pan.....

Just had a rant about this on Win2Win.

They've given one to 'She who missed drug tests and got banned, and has a cloud hanging over her head' an honour....great role model.

Great the way one hit wonders get them, and yet many in the general public help society all their lives and get bugger all.

Last night in the news, they were interviewing some of the gong recipients......

I suppose now at the ripe age of "0" they will write their memoirs.....

It will be a long way before they get to Sir Ian Botham level, if ever.....

I had a record in the charts once so I think I'll write my autobiography - of course, I shall write it myself and not let anybody else do it for me and then call it an autobiography like wot all them erudite literacists like Beckam does eh? You know - ermmm - you know - ermmm - at the end of the day - you know - ermmm!
