    2 Weeks

Our Friends put there visa into the embassy 2 weeks ago, following our instructions on how to fill it out, and what to supply, so hopefully they followed our instructions.

    Today it says dispatched

Now that is quick. Now as they only send it back once it's processed rather than something missing, and if they've done it that quick it usually means they didn't bother verifying anything, so hopefully the visa is in it.

Mind you they are both in Davao, as my mate comes back tomorrow to glorious UK, so I've told him to send her back home to North Mindanao NOW, to make sure she's at home in the morning.

    Fingers crossed for them

Blimey, that's really quick. I think this system with UKVACS and its own in-house courier company seems to be getting quite slick now and also, interviews just for the sake of it seem to be a thing of the past.

Not that I'm a gambling man , but I'd go odds-on they get the visa.

i think if youll provide them with the EXACT documents they wanted and make sure your papers are in order it will be easy and quick to get the visa. We applied Feb.20 and i got it back by march 3 (visa was dated march 1 2006 until september 1, 2006)how fast is that?... and im quite surprise when we applied for the FLR it took us only two weeks...yayy...

I would imagine if they get it, it's because both of them have been vouched for by folk in the UK, and the wife threatened to kill them if they got it wrong

I had a very painless application for my visa as well. Courier picked the pack up, told me when I'd hear back from the embassy. After a couple of weeks, I got a package where they had sent back the original photos, etc. along with my passport with the visa! I wasn't called in to be interviewed.

Strangely enough, they didn't put a cover letter or anything saying I had gotten the visa, so I originally thought I had been declined... until I looked in the passport and there it was! They also didn't send back the binders that I filed everything in. I guess they liked them!

Hope everything goes well! I'm sure it will go through as long as you have everything they ask for. Best of luck!!

You lucky lot !, these days, it seems the procedures are easy !, go back 2 years and see how it used to be, interview dates, flights to Manila, hanging around, coffee at the 7-11 around the back of the Locsin Building, Lunch at the Ayala Centre, youve never had it so good ! just be thankful, you didnt get a visa, and then have it cancelled, oh what fun those days were, werent they Rob ???

You could always go back and re-enact it Pete

By the way, when it says Dispatched....how long would it take to get to North Mindanao........poor girl will have no nails left.....and Mr Fiancee is on the plane home as I type.

Would it hurt the embassy to put an I for Interview or V for visa on the ref number?

    Hi Pete,
I must say after all the things I had read about the waiting etc and the ECO interview techniques, I have been pleasantly surprised. It seems we have got it easy these days compared to all you Filipino UK veterans.

    Hi Keith,
My wife was so desperate to get her hands on the package and find out the result that she phoned up Aboitiz 2GO the day after the UKVACS tracking said "dispatched" and hassled them to find out where it was. She phoned their depot at Lumbia Airport, CDO and they said it was there, so she asked if she could come and collect it from there. They said no to that, but said that they would send it down to their ferry depot and she could collect it from there after 11:30am that day, which she did.

Yeah I laugh about it now Pete, standing outside our friendly Embassy, choking on jeepney fumes, being told to move away by armed guards and then told to come back in 2 weeks when a decision *might be made. Happy days

    Day 9 - Nothing

It now appears the day it said Dispatched was the day it was actually delivered, and the two muppets where off wandering around the country, so never got it!!! .....and they've done nothing about it since

Nice of the folk on here to follow the advice we give to the letter, as you all have your visa's, those who ignore us.....well this happens.
