Your local Woolworths will be turned into a brothel!!!

I just had to share this with you guys and girls!!

Some joker/prankster in the south of England has created fake Woolworths posters which he put on the windows of the closing down Woolworths stores!

The posters state that Woolworths will be closing on blah blah blah date and will be re-opening on blah blah blah date as a brothel/sex shop where you can buy blow up dolls and a variety of sex toys etc.. (It's not true of course it was local prank!)

I read about this in a local paper in Brighton! One thing you've got to love about Britain is our ridiculous sense of humour!!

hmmmm . . . my mother-in law was really upset when they closed. Loads of local residents in Newquay put some flowers and RIP signs outside the store entrance on the last day of their closing out. Its really sad, i think for most of the older generations Woolworths has been a part of their childhood days.

Awww I agree...I guess it's sad for many people to see Woolworths go bust like that...

I spoke to a girl working at East Grinstead branch of Woolworths..I asked her when will the store close...she said she didn't even know!! You would think that Woolworths would have the common decency to tell their hard working staff when they would lose their jobs but no! Not in East Grinstead branch anyway!

That is very true. However, what Woolworth shops had become in recent years made me cringe - full of very cheap tat.

I remember saving my pocket money in order to visit Woolworth - in 1961, or 62. I received six old pence (2.5p) a week, and if I saved for four weeks I could afford the cheapest Airfix kits for two bob (10p).

When did Woolies go downhill ... I guess it would have been in the 1980s.
