    Redundant help ILR.

Hello there, can anyone help please?
My husband is about to be made redundant. We have to apply for my ILR in September 2009. I am worried that if he cannot find another job and is still unemployed will this affect my ILR application.

    Hello welcome back

Im not an expert bout that matter but i think if you've got savings that would help to show in your application untill your husband gets a new job.

Joe and the other members here might have more info to share

All the best for you and your family

as long as he can support you with out you needing public funds or he doesn't claim any benefits classed as public funds for you, or you don't claim any benefits classed as public funds, or he doesn't receive more of a benefit because you are with him, then you shouldn't have a problem. he can claim any benefit he is entitled to, but you cannot, some benefits like tax creds, he could still claim and both of your details would have to be filled in, but only he should claim it.

    Your finances

Evidence of your finances. Bank statements, building society savings book(s), pay slips or other formal documents as
evidence of your and your partner’s ability to maintain and accommodate yourself and any dependants without recourse to
    public funds (see Note 7).

Note 7 We do not accept internet or cashpoint statements as evidence of finances. If you claim that a relative or friend is providing
you with financial support (see question 7.5), in addition to evidence of your own finances, you must provide bank statements
or other documents of the kind described above as evidence of their financial resources. The documents showing the
finances available to you and to any person supporting you should cover at least the last 3 months

how long as he worked for the company ? if i think its more than 2yrs he should get redundancy pay.

    do you have savings?

well ideally you want 3 payslips at least by sept, so hes got til end of may to find a job, its a long time to find a job, even any job just to bring some money into his bank account.

it is possible to still get ILR while hes on benefits, but you want to reduce your risks.

i've had this happen to me, but luckily the company i worked which went bust ,started a new company, and i had to apply for ilr for the misses, and i didn't even bother to tell them about the company going bust, because the pay slips looked the same

don't worry too much, you've done the hard work getting a settlement visa, so if he can find a job by then it will reduce the risk of refusal.
