Questions about the 28 days ENTRY for FIANCEE VISA...

Can I extend my 28 days to enter UK? Due to changing CIRCUMSTANCES can I extend more than the allotted time. And if so by HOW MANY WEEKS?

Thanks guys... need your extending help for this.

    hi sis Amy,

first congratulations for having ur visa..and about ur querry, I think the 28 day entry to the UK is only allowed for the SPOUSE VISA..since u are on a FIANCEE VISA I dont think there will be a limited date for u to enter the UK just make sure u get married before ur visa expired.

Hope it helps and welcome to the UK..

I think Kimmi is right. Our visa is dated March 1st but because I'm travelling to Manila to travel to the UK with my fiancee and I cant take any more holiday at work until the new tax year we won't be arriving here till about April 8th. As far as I know that shouldn't be a problem.

Oh I'm so confused now... Why some of the other members here in the forum told me that... I should be in the UK for at least 28 days.. the extensions is only for SPOUSAL huhuhuhuu not for FIANCEE

    hi sis AMY,

    dont get confused..

just make sure u come here in the UK before ur visa expired..

let's say ur visa start JAN. 13 -JUNE 13 within those dates u should be here in the UK and get married and afterwards apply for FLR (Further Leave to Remain) -that is 2yrs visa extension..

I think it's because people who come to UK with spouse visa have no need to apply for FLR they just need to apply for ILR for which they need to be resident in UK for 2 years which is why they have to travel soon enough to have been in the country long enough to qualify.

I wouldn't claim to be 100% certain of that but that's certainly my understanding of the situation. Maybe someone else can confirm that is correct.

My fiancees visa is dated from first day of March. We dont plan to arrive in UK until early in April which will be longer than 28 days from start of visa. I'm pretty certain that will be fine and we are entitled to do that.

Your only real concern should be arriving in time to give notice of intent to marry before the wedding (I think that has to be done at least 15 days before the wedding) and allowing yourselves enough time to prepare your FLR application after the wedding but before the expiry of your fiancee visa.

I dont think the 28 days count now as the spouse visa you get now is for 2 years 3 months, the 3 months will cover time to come to the uk and still be able to apply for your I. L. R. 2 years after arriving in the uk.

Gingxrick is right, sis Amy. 28 days is just for spouse visa though they changed the rule late last year. See related post: http://filipinaroses.com/showthread.php?t=12385

You have an ample time as long as the visa has not expired and still have time to get married before it expires.

Can i say, " i told ya"? hehe
