    Born to be wild!

    Born to be wild!

I think I'm just starting to have a mid-life crisis.

I've just gone & bought a Raleigh Chopper, off ebay.
It's an infra red Mk2 model... An icon of the 1970's.
It's in pretty good nick too.
I never actually owned one as a kid, I desperately wanted one, but never got one. I had a racing bike. Mates of mine, did have them so we used to swap, when we were out playing.

A friend of mine, just bought one a week before me, so we plan to go off & have adventures, with our choppers!

Lot's of 40/50 somethings? become quite wide eyed & enthusiastic, when you start talking about them, as my neighbour did this morning when I told him.

Anyone else have a Chopper, when they were younger?

P.S. I welcome & fully expect lewd jokes about mens appendages.

Yes you can get them new, MK3's. They aren't as good as the original ones, the saddles are c**p!

Strykers or Strikers? Weren't they like a mini version of the Grifter?

I never had a chopper, but the baby version - the budgie. When I was big enough for a chopper BMX's came into fashion so I had one of them.

    Oooh err mrs!

Yes I had an Action Man, with a deep sea diving outfit.
You want to get little joe a spacehopper, maybe when he's a little bit older...Another classic from the '70's
