hi everyone, i have been looking on the internet at dna testing kits!and was wandering .if my name is on my babys birth certificate and i want to get him uk passport. would i need a legal /law,paternity test.or just a normal paternity test! what is nessasary for immigration?any advice would be vhelpful! thankyou

Hi bert why not ask your partner if she put your name on your sons birth certificate.

I think your "son" is not entitled to get a british passport because you're not married to his mother. I'm not quite sure on this but I suggest you visit the British EMbassy and Home Office websites for your queries.

even better ask her to scan the birth cert and email it to you.

the British embassy might ask you for dna evidence that its your son if there are any suspicious circumstances.

me thinks ladyj you could be slightly wrong as If you were born before 1 July 2006 you may not qualify if your parents were not married at the time of your birth.
