If you haven't noticed the Smart Money load service at www.pldtonline.com has been down now for over 2 weeks.

The "Reload Now" image on the bottom left has no hyperlink. On the list of services page it is marked with a * with the message "available soon".

I've contacted them several times with only one reply - saying "they had informed someone"!!!

Benefit of Smart Money when it worked

1. Loads from PayPal
2. No transaction charge
3. Decent exchange rate - unless you were loading PayPal from a credit card. Then you were/are at the mercy of the credit card/card provider.

Theoretically I qualified for immediate clearance of funds...but...despite being contacted by the President (whatever that inflated title meant) and told the account qualified for "immediate clearance" it usually took up to 3 days and nearly always needed reverification by sending a picture of my passport & a utility bill.

Downside

Smart Money card can't be used to verify a Philippines Pay Pal account - but then verifying a Philippines PayPal account is one of the world's remaining great conundrums!!

pldtonline also can be used to reload Smart phones within seconds - but not Smart Bro!!

What a complicated and difficult country!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is it who gets paid to complicate such simple processes to the detriment of normal peoples enjoyment of a simple life.
