Im 44 yrs old, married to a british national since 2005 after been widowed of 9 yrs. I got 4 grown children in the phil. As i arrived Uk Sept 15, 2007, my husband doesnt like me to go to work bcoz he likes me to stay with him always. At first, i want to cry as i had 4 kids to support but i dont want to hurt my husband. We are happy together since then i was here with him until last october 3,2008. He was diagnosed of lung cancer and cancer in the lymph node. I was very worried and sad. Now im fully caregiver.
My one big problem is. My visa will expire aug 14 2009 but i had only 23 months stay Uk at that time. My heart really painful. Advice me pls
Hi,
I think that if you send your application for ILR at the very last minute, by courier 2 days before your visa expires, then by the time they actually deal with the application you will have been here for the required 24 months.

From what I have heard, they are much more easy going than they used to be about these things, that is why they changed the settlement visa period to 27 months, because so many applicants were being caught out by the travel within 28 days or pay up for both FLR and ILR saga.
