    Question Please.

I know this may have been covered somewhere else..but my computer is crap. The questions are..1. My son was born in Manila but on his B/Certificate I'm his daddy and my nationality is British (and he looks Gwapo.. like me)..Does that mean he can get get a British passport when he is older?.. 2. If I set off for a holiday in the Filipines...how long can I stay there for with just my British passport and if I wanted longer, could I get some kind of visa (for a longer stay). Again sorry if this has been covered, but I only get 5 minutes on this piece of junk...Many thanks for any help...

Im afraid he cant be British Citizen because he's gwapo like daddy

Seriously for your question number 2. you can stay up to 21 days visa free and if you want to extend your stay then you'll have to go to your nearest Bureau of Immigration (I think..not sure) to extend your visa otherwise apply one in Phils Embassy, London.

Are you married to your son's mother?
Not an expert, I only try to help.

if that child is yours and you are a british citizen you can apply a british passport straight away for your child. 2 question you can stay 21 days in PI visa free, if you stay longer than 21 days get a extention visa in the local bureau immigration in PI where you live, its easy to do that.
    all things are possible!

If he was born after 2006, then yes, he can have a british passport. However, apart from the birth certificate, the embassy will require other documentation - the hospital bills for ante-natal treatment and birth will be handy, as will photos of his mum when she was pregnant. If the embassy are not satisfied with the documentation supplied, they may request a DNA test to prove paternity.

Oh, and it doesn't have to be 'when he is older'. The sooner you apply, the better.

[I think we should be okay - Ruby met the Consul from Manila last week and the pregnancy is very obvious. She suggested that I mention the meeting when I submit the passport application.]

If he was born in 2006, or earlier, and you're not married, then things will be rather more difficult.

With regard to your other question, yes you can obtain a 38 day extension to your initial 21 day entry. The cost is 3,020 pesos at the Bureau of Immigration (IIRC, that's cheaper than obtaining the visa in London).

If you want you can just keep renewing the visas for 16 months and then some or pop over to Thailand or Hong Kong and you can start again if you pay the fees about 30 quid a month or so its pretty easy you dont even have to go anywhere somone will do it for you for a few bob

As far as I am aware, that this only applies if you are married at the time you arrive in the country. I had to keep extending my visit while my 13a application was processed.
