Bluebird Jones (shocking game last night BTW), I would agree with what you say. The Embassy know no legal arrangements can really be made until the fiance is in the UK at least 8 days. However, it will not do any harm to include things like Wedding Ring receipts. How they are perceived by the ECO's, we will not know.
Some people have been rejected for the ECO not being convinced that a wedding will take place - this usually is coupled with another more valid reason. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that people stop sending proof of future wedding arrangements, I would still encourage that. However, provisional bookings with registrars are, in my opinion, worthless based on UK laws that ECOs have full knowledge of.
