    Smile Arachnophobia

Did you realise that there is approximately one spider per square foot in the average household?

That means that the chances are there are a dozen or so looking at you RIGHT NOW!!

Also, we EAT an average of 8 spiders per year whilst we are sleeping!!!

    Sleep well!

I have one of these as a pet

Had her since she was less than 1cm, and is now 10 years old, and about 12cms

Arachnophobia in the UK is an inordinate fear though, due to the fact that we are harbourers of 'safe' beasts.

However!!!! Why live in Australia where you can quite easily get a funnel web bitin' yer bum whilst sitting on the loo?

If you live in Melbourne or Queensland, be VERY careful putting on your shoes in the morning!!!

I still cringe over finding the cockroach in my pocket!!! YUK!!!!!

I was bitten on the face by quite a small spider a month or two back. It was painful for several days.

The spider was not like anything I've come across in UK - it was a dark green colour with a hard body.

Yes there is at least one big spider here in the Phils but as it only had 5 legs I think it had already met someone with a broom

Yes, the huntsman spider can grow very big - as big as the palm of your hand. They are not venomous but can give you a nasty bite a la tarantula. Not as bad as a wasp sting though.

Having said that, the huntsman would rather run away than bite.
