It is indeed alot of money to get your love ones here in UK and I dont think its fair to the husbands to shoulder all the expense, the ladies should take the initiative to get a job once they are here in UK and share the responsibilities. Doesnt have to be 50/50 but at least help your husbands in paying all those fees. Specially now that we have 3 little children, I insist on paying for most of the things/shopping needed by our children since I get the child benefits and work part time.. only my opinion anyway.
Btw...citizenship/oath taking are free for group ceremonies however if you want a private one they charge £60.
