If you're planning to file an application anytime soon then take note!
The Home Office will increase fees for citizenship and visas applications on 6 April 2009. Applicants seeking citizenship by naturalisation or permanent residency through an indefinite leave to remain visa will have to pay up to 15% more.
Fees are unlikely to come down any time soon. If you are able to submit your application on or before the 5 April 2009 then you’ll save money

How about JSA allowance of 60£/week? After a month I passed my ILR, I visited Jobcentreplus and asked if I am qualified for JSA in case I loose my job. They asked some questions how much I earned in my 2 years stay etc. I'll be qualified from January onward in case I loose my job.
I asked my hubby if I can still receive my JSA even I'm on my holidays to Philippines but he said NO, you need to sign every forth night![]()
Not sure JSA really ought to be on this list as you should only attempt to claim JSA in your own right once you've got ILR and you've earned enough.
JSA is 'job seekers allowance' so of course you can't usually claim it whilst you're not in the country and available for work.
