7 Weeks and JESSICA HAS BEEN CALLED FOR INTERVIEW

We submitted our application just under 7 weeks ago, and Jessica received a text to attend INTERVIEW next week.

We are both excited AND scared, because it measn the Embassy have doubts on our paperwork.

    What will happen ?????????

    Good luck Belmontboy,

Yous are lucky enough to be called for an interview even it's only 7 weeks of waiting..I forgot, it's spouse visa you have applied right or fiancee?..Anyway fingers crossed for you..It's a nervous feeling but always think positive..

I'm turning 16 weeks and still no news..

All the best and good morning!

It.s a fiancee Visa we have applied for. Whilst it's good news that the visa hasn't been rejected, I am VERY concerend as to what aspects of our paperwork are being brought into question, bearing in mind that my letter of sponsorship was very long and detailed and left very few (if any) stones un turned.

The three areas that I think they may want to question are :

    (1) My past financial problems
    (2) The fact that we have not seen each other for over two years as a result of (1), even tho we have photos, and enough chat logs to write a novel
    (3) The fact that my ex g/f from 4 years ago was Filipina, and we applied for a Fiance' visa (which was accepted) but I ended the relationship before she even came to UK because I realised that had been lying to me and had been "cybercheating" behind my back etc etc.

With regards to (3), I did e-mail the embassy 2 years ago to ask if My ex's visa application could in any way compromise Jessica's application, and was told that "no" because all visa applications are dealt with individualy.

Of course, Jessica is fully aware of my past, in fact, it was my ex who inspired me, indirectly, to find a new Filipina g/f hence the reason I met Jessica after I had moved on.

    Any thoughts ?

I'm not sure but I think most of the questions will be just you and her... past financial problems won't be an issue. they might ask why you haven't meet for 2 years though.. and regarding ur ex, 4 years? well that's been a long time ago...
just tell her to be relax on the interview and answer truthfully.

    again, GOODLUCK!

    Thanks for your reply Belmontboy,

Anyway there's nothing to worry about your past relationship visa application to Jessica's visa application because it was over long time ago and I'm sure the ECO will do check the background of your present relationship and not the past.

I have to agree with Ate Chryss, maybe because you never seen each other in person for few years that's why they're having doubts and that's also the reason she have been called to attend an interview next week..

Well I am positive that Jessica can make it and tell her not to feel nervous, everything is gonna be alright in the end then with that you will be together forever..

Fingers crossed for your gf's interview...I know she will get her visa soon..Always pray too because nothing is impossible with God!..

    Good luck again!

    You will get it
It's good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's good to check up once in a while to make sure you haven't lost the things that money can't buy.

Intervening Devotion If the applicant and sponsor have been separated for a lengthy period of time before the application is submitted (for example, longer than 3 or 4 months), then evidence of intervening devotion should be included. This would normally take the form of telephone records or other forms of electronic communication. If the couple have lived separately for a longer period, travel receipts can be used to show that contact has been continual and proportionate.

If a prolonged separation is the result of mobility issues (which would include military duties or other foreign assignments), this would take the form of assignment letters or similar documentation.

When submitting email or instant messenger logs, it is important to bear in mind that intervening devotion means evidence of contact and not an exhaustive transcript of each on-line session.

i think the 2years apart could be the problem, and is probably the reason for the interview, where i would have thought your g/f will be asked questions like..

When did you and your fiance become engaged? Who proposed? How was it done? What happened?

What wedding plans have you made? Will you have a hen night? Will your fiance have a stag-do?

What sort of wedding dress will you wear?

Who have you invited to your wedding? Who is printing your invitations?

Where will your wedding be held?

Who is on your invitation list?

What sort of ceremony will you have? NOTE: prepare for this one in some depth!

Will there be a reception after the wedding? If so where?

Where do your fiance's parents live? What are their names? Have you met them?

How did you decide on a wedding date?

How much money does your fiance earn each month?

Where will you live? What are the accommodations like there? How long will you live there?

How did you decide where you would live?

Is your marriage dependent upon your relocating to the UK?

What does your fiance do for a living?

Have you or your sponsor been engaged before?

Did you ever attempt to settle in the UK before? When? What happened?

Do you have relatives in the UK? Who? What do they do?

What role did your fiance's residence in the UK play in your decision to get married?

May we have your engagement ring examined by a jeweler to assure it is genuine?

Is your fiance conservative or liberal? For which political party does your fiance normally vote?

Why do you want to marry a rich Englishman?

Do you have children? Has your fiance met them?

What relatives will you leave behind if you settle in the UK?

Has your fiancé met your family? Where? When? Answer: YES! My fiance brought gifts for my parents, and we went to five star restaurant for dinner, the receipt is included in the application.

What sort of work will you do in the UK? Trick question! Answer: I am qualified in several fields, but I want to focus on my wedding plans when I arrive in the UK. My ultimate employment is too far into the future to even speculate. NOTE: The answer here must come from a personal motivation rather than a knowledge of visa laws. Be careful!

Do your fiancé's children know about your marriage plans? Trick question! This is designed to assess the applicant's body language. Answer: His children know that he intends to remarry. They have not met me, and my fiance will introduce me when I arrive in the UK, and he will select the venue such that it will be a memorable and happy event. I look forward to a good relationship with [child's name] and [child's name].

What will you do if your application is refused? Answer: I will give notice of appeal today, and I will fax the relevant materials to my fiance. Wrong answer: we will marry in a 3rd country (they may take you up on it!). Correct response: According to UK law, we are entitled to marry in the UK and we will seek to do so by all legal avenues available to us. We will appeal a refusal and provide all additional information needed to substantiate our claim.

    (from transpondia)

    good luck

Yeah, I made sure that I covered all the angles, the letter itself came to about 6 pages long, but any shorter and it would have missed key points, or mentioned key points without explainig them.

There is, obviously, something that hasn't been covered and that what's worrying me. I trust Jessica 100000% to give her best at the interview, but its the feeling of "what is missing and how can we make sure it IS covered" that worries me.

THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD WISHES !!!

I don't think it's anything you've missed as such, it's just in your situation the ECO was always going to want to interview your fiancee. As Joebloggs has already highlighted the 2 years without seeing each other is a long while and fiancee visas are only granted if the ECO is very confident that a marriage will take place.

Its been difficult, but we have PAGES AND PAGES of MSN archives, Photos, Christmas cards from me AND my parents, and, I EVEN re-decorated the bedroom in pink AND Painted a portrait of Jessica and put it on the wall, and took a photo of it for the application, so, if that doesn't show continued devotion don't know what will.

The problems you face though is that a long distance relationship is totally different to being together in person and over two years people can change.

If the ECO wanted to ask questions along those lines it could be difficult to give good answers.

When i was waiting for my visa i have listed down those possible questions to be asked on the inverview. Those listed on Joebloggs post. I have listed the names of his parents and family members as well, his educational attainment,(can't memorize as there are various courses taken up) any small details about him, how well do you know each other. Just to be ready in case they will be asked from me but, i wasn't called for an interveiw.

I guess there will be questions about if you both has continued to communicate being away from each other for 2 years.
Best of luck to your fiancee Belmontboy.

Today I made provisonal booking for our wedding Dinner, and received a lovely written letter of confirmation AND a copy of the Menu.

Whilst the ECO already has our Wedding ceremony booking receipt, should I scan and copy the Hotel booking and Menu and send to Jessica so she can print it out and take it to her interview as further proof ?

There are fiancee visas approved even if there was no provisional wedding bookings and receipt of wedding rings, what is important is you stayed in communication while you both are away from each other and she should know how to convince the interviewer that she knows you very well. Be ready of small details that could be asked.
    Best of luck.

good luck to your fiancee's interview. tell her to relax, be focus and confident in answering during the interview, just answer what is asked no more no less and be consistent as they repeat some questions in different ways so not to wonder or get confuse. when she arrives there she should be confident in looks, not nervous as she is under observation when she enters the embassy especially while waiting for her turn and after the interview. just have some practice answering possible questions then she will be familiar on things. good luck to both of you i know you can both make it.
