I have 2 14 year old daughters from the fillipines they have graduated but i need to know how thier education compares with the education here and at 14 they should still be in high school but they are talking about university,
which in our country is started at 18 ! im confused, advise would be greatly accepted
. I also have an 11 year old that i need to get in to school here and a 16 year old that went to navel school or merchant sea scholl not sure but, the uniforms where very cool they all looked like generals or some thing hehe many thanks

The language of instruction in schools in the Phils is English except for learning Tagalog so I would suggest you reflect on there conversational ability in English.

My experience is that the education system is poor and antiquated and there is no accountability of teachers who can be as crap as they like if you complain the child will be penalised

In the Philippines, kids start school in nursery and primary school then elementary school. Elementary school is from grade 1 to 6 and in some private school it's grade 1-to 7. gRADE 1 STUDENTS ARE NORMALLY 6 YEAR OLDS. so if a child starts elementary at 6 he or she then graduates at age 12. AFTER GRADUATING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL they THEN go to highschool (1st year to fourth year) normally from 12-16 years of age. AFTER GRADUATING HIGHSCHOOL THEY THEN GO TO UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE AND TAKE A 4- 5 YEAR COURSE depends really what course they take. Most university students graduate at age 20 if they take a 4 year course.

Any of you kids you get here will be assessed here you local county council web site should have the numbers they will for sure need English ability improved I don't think there's an answer to the comparison part some university degrees in the Phills will equate with some credits to a degree equiv depends on the standing of the uni the list of top uni in the Phills is short
