Yes, I voted but I don't want to go on about religion too much in this thread.
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that a lot of people here say they believe in a "God" as this is a Filipino-UK forum.
Filipinos are mostly catholic and i bet some husbands are keeping their thoughts to themselves as they might not get kissed otherwise
The real fact is that people in the UK are MOSTLY not bothered.
Filipinos should be aware of this if they want to live in our country.

My opinion is that a lot of people in the Uk are afraid to show their belief in case they are made fun of .

This fear may stem from the olden times when Catholics were rounded up by Cromwellian forces and ordered to abiure for fear of death.
The unfortunate that did not want to change their religion were systematically executed in various painful ways....

Just a thought.

Thanks to the Evangelical Christian Right in America, there Atheists are often held in public contempt and blamed for declines in morality. Just type 'Atheist' and a swearword into YouTube for a deluge of hatred...

Even given the Atheist sentiments of Jefferson and some of the Founding Fathers, there are many places there where people are afraid to acknowledge their doubts and have to deny their true opinions...

Sadly for both sets of belivers it was not just at catholics who were perscuted as the roles changed I belive at some points Both teams seemed in the UK and elsewhere have had a go at bashing the other it seems.

Also a major issue i belive in the UK why so many either play down their religon or are simply not intrested in religion. Is due to the fact the cvil war was caused by differnces between the two mobs and then all the troubles in Ireland again which went down mainly religous devides
I know there is more to it than simply religion but sadly it was tainted by the issue.

I do think this is a reason why a lot of people just dont have as much time for religion compared to many others in others of the world.
